Open Level Position in the Area of Electrical and Computer Engineering


The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of California at Santa Barbara is accepting applications for open-level search for a tenure-track Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor position in the broad area of Electrical and Computer Engineering, with an effective appointment date of July 1, 2020. This hire may involve an appointment to an endowed chair. The Department has particular (non-exclusive) interest in applicants with a depth of expertise in data science, machine learning, networking and communications, computer engineering, circuits, electronic and photonic materials, physics and devices along with the ability to collaborate with faculty across disciplines.

Candidates should have an established research reputation or outstanding research potential, the ability to attract external research funding, and a strong commitment to teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The department is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through research, teaching and service.

Applicants are required to have a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering or a closely related field by the time of appointment. Completed applications will consist of a cover letter, curriculum vitae, teaching statement (2-page limit), statement of research interests (3-page limit), and contact information for three letters of reference.
