The department provides backup service for all important department services and servers. Backup service for research servers and office and lab workstations is provided by the IT support group on a per request basis.
For those hosts which we are backing up, files are backed up nightly, and we retain backed up files for one year. If the file you need was removed or lost longer than a year previous, we cannot recover it. Please also note that we will back up only user files (/home, /Users, C:\Users, or C:\Documents and Settings). If you are interested in learning more about our backup schedule, or would like to request that your workstation or server be added to our backup schedule, please contact us at help@ece.ucsb.edu.
Send an email to help@ece.ucsb.edu requesting that the lost file or directory be recovered.

You can send up to 25 MB in attachments. If you have more than one attachment, they can't add up to more than 25 MB.
If your file is greater than 25 MB, Gmail automatically adds a Google Drive link in the email instead of including it as an attachment. The person you send the file to can download it so they'll have access to it even if you remove it from Google Drive.
Please see the Connect Communcation, Calendaring & Collaboration Service website for instructions.
You can reset your UCSBnetID password here.
