In order to support Matlab R2013b and to streamline the administration of the CoE Matlab site license, ECE Support and ECI have agreed to migrate the existing Matlab license server (ns2.ece.ucsb.edu) to new hardware at a different IP address (license.engr.ucsb.edu). To continue to use Matlab, you will need to update your license file. You can access the new license file as well as instructions on how to update by logging on with your ECI credentials here:

Please note: -------->>>  the existing license server will shut down on 11/22/2013. Without updating your license file, you will be unable to run Matlab after that date.

Additionally, the new license server is now capable of supporting the recently released Matlab R2013b. Installation media, licensing information and installation instructions are also available via the link above. You will need to be on the campus network or connected via the campus vpn service in order to download installation media. ECI has Knowledge Base articles covering updating the license file as well as installing Matlab here:
