  • Matlab
  • Comsol (Daoxin) - Multi-physics tool with (simultaneous models 2D or 3D optical, thermal, and/or electrical properties of your structure).
  • Silvaco
  • Mathematica
  • Fimmwave-Fimmprop (Jock) - Uses Film Mode Matching (FMM) or Finite-Difference Method (FDM) to model 2D modes and propagate them by overlap integrals in 3D.

1. You can login 128.111.239.215 in the remote way with your user name and password. The user name is the same as that for your email appear on the website of our group. Get the initial password from Daoxin. You can login and change it by yourself. If you don't have a username, please let Daoxin know and I will create it for you.

2. After you login the computer, you can run your simulation (COMSOL, FIMWave, etc). If you simulation need a long time and you don't need to edit anything more, you can choose "switch user" (instead of log out). In this way, you simulation is still running while the other user can login. Otherwise, you will receive a request from the other user when he tries to login. You can click "ok" or "cancel" depending on yourself. If you don't give the response, the computer will switch to the user who requested in 30 second. Don't worry about your running simulation. It is still there.

So, anyone who wants to use the computer, just try to login. If nobody is using it, you can login it smoothly. Otherwise, you need to wait for the response. But, you can see who is using. Then you can contact with him/her to figure out when it is avaiable for you.

3. For many pieces of software, because only limited users are allowed, please quit it when you finish your simulation. Otherwise, the license is occupied and it won't be available for anyone else.

Hope this is a clear description. If there are any questions, please let Daoxin know.
