1.) Install Agilent IO Library Suite [1]

2.) Re-install VISA (scroll down) [2]

3.) Open NI-MAX (measurement and automation explorer)

4.) Go to Tools>Visa>Visa options

5.) Pick "passports"

6.) Enable Tulip, save changes, and click "Refresh"


If Windows can't find the driver, it can be downloaded from: [3] (registration required but free) From there, go to: Software Downloads > Software IO Libraries Suite >IO Libraries Suite Product Download Page

The first download product is IO Libraries Suite 15.0 at 81.4 Mb. If you are a first time user then you will need to enter some information. Do not request a CD as it is $43 and you will get the entire Suite 15.0 from the web for free


Switch between Agilent GPIB cable and NI GPIB cable

Prerequisites: Both Agilent and NI GPIB cable drivers

Using NI cable: NI MAX software - Tools - NI VISA - VISA options - Passports - UNCHECK the NiVisaTunip.dll - Save - Refresh Using Agilent cable: NI MAX software - Tools - NI VISA - VISA options - Passports - CHECK the NiVisaTunip.dll - Save - Refresh
