ECE 149

Game Theory & Multiagent Systems

An undergraduate introduction to game theory with an emphasis on engineering applications. The course studies systems composed of interacting and competing decision-makers, drawing examples from multi-vehicle robotics, data and sensor networks, and electronic commerce.

ECE 271C

Dynamic Programming & Optimal Control

A graduate course on the fundamentals of dynamic programming: the principle of optimality (deterministic and stochastic), value and policy iteration, finite-state Markov chains, partial information problems, stochastic shortest paths, and an introduction to approximate dynamic programming. Applications in inventory control, finance, routing, and sequential hypothesis testing.

Strategic Mechanism Design

A graduate seminar on game-theoretic topics central to the design and analysis of emerging socio-technical systems — systems comprised of both engineered and human decision-making entities. Topics include mechanism design, algorithmic game theory, and strategic learning and its limits.

Signals & Systems

A core undergraduate course on continuous-time signals and linear systems: convolution and impulse response, Fourier series and the Fourier transform, frequency-domain analysis, sampling, and an introduction to filtering. The class emphasizes concepts and intuition over rote computation.
