ISCS/IPRM Rump Session Monday, 8/27/12, 7:00-8:30pm

Ultralow power devices – to the scaling limits and beyond

Organizer: Prof. Alan Seabaugh, University of Notre Dame.

The final embodiment of the MOSFET at technology nodes below 15 nm is unknown.  Will the channel remain Si, will it become III-V, will it morph into a tunnel FET? Are nanowires, nanotubes, or 2D materials viable options? Are there alternatives beyond the transistor for low power, high density computing applications?  This panel will address these questions and discuss the ultimate MOSFET and beyond.
