Postdoctoral Research Positions
We have an opening, starting late 2021, for a highly qualified postdoctoral researcher in 140, 210, and 280GHz wireless communications and radar systems,  including transmitter and receiver front-end ICs, antennas and massive MIMO arrays,  and systems demonstrations. This is a key part of the ComSenTer program.

Graduate Research Positions in Device Physics
There may be openings, for September 2022, for highly qualified students seeking to obtain Ph.D.s  in semiconductor physics, focusing on THz and nm transistors.

Graduate Research Positions in IC Design

There may be openings, for September 2022, for highly qualified students seeking to obtain Ph.D.s  in semiconductor physics, focusing on THz and nm transistors.

Do please write to me, but see the notes below:

_________________________________________

The group regularly recuits new Ph.D. students with interests in IC design, semiconductor devices, and materials growth.  The normal application process to the department and the university should be followed; please mention Rodwell group in your application if you would like to work in our team.

If you would like to write to me by email, please note the following. Each Autumn, professors receive many auto-list-generated emails from prospective students. Please do not do this: I can't, and won't respond to such letters. To help me respond to your personal note, please keep your letter and your resume short and focused, tell me your class rank, your grades, your publications, your interests, the specific group project you wish to join, and provide the name of a well-known researcher or professor whom I can contact to obtain a reference. Letters are for introduction: you must formally apply for graduate admission to UCSB, and admissions are decided on the basis of those applications.

Graduate students applying to admission to the ECE department can be admitted into the M.S., Ph.D., or combined M.S./Ph.D. programs.   Students seeking financial support from Rodwell group in the form of Research assistantships should apply for admission to the Ph.D.  or combined  M.S./Ph.D. programs.

I am very happy to work with M.S.-only students on research projects. Please contact me. But, I generally cannot provide financial support for students working on such short-term projects,
