The AWG receiver was a 20 channel AWG with 20 HSP photodiodes on Si nanowires (220nm height). The AWGs seem to have been damaged during hybrid processing and did not work as designed.
Design[edit]
Here are some files from Katsu Okamoto detailing the AWG design procedure in Si:
Explanation of excel and fortran files, variable names, design methodology, etc.
Excel spreadsheet showing field profiles in Si rib wavegudies
Excel spreadsheet that has to do with putting the whole AWG together.
Fortran code for calculating AWG parameters. Change the file extension to .f to use.
Processing[edit]
Quantum well lithography misalignment
Data[edit]
AWG post-bond spectra (measured with on-chip PDs)
